ELLISBURG, NY — Ronald E. Zehr, 60, Ellisburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2023, at Samaritan Keep Home where he was a resident for a short time.
Calling hours will be held 5 yo 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Carpenter Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
Born Oct. 19, 1963, in Watertown, NY, the son of the late Duane and Rosemary Moreton Zehr, he graduated from Belleville Central School in 1982.
He was employed at dairy farms in the area to include Big Dog Dairy Group, LLC.
Surviving are his companion, Karen Bertram, Ellisburg, son, Jeremy Bertram, Valatie, NY; 3 brothers and their wives, Wayne (Dawn), Ellisburg; David (Linda), Belleville; Kevin (Fawn), Adams; two grandchildren, Cameron and Abby Bertram, uncle, Gerald Moreton, aunt, Linda Moreton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two uncles, Roger and Sidney Moreton.
Ron coached Farm League, was an Umpire for Little League and Babe Ruth. He also was an avid bowler bowling a few 300 games at South Jefferson Lanes. Bowling was an activity he enjoyed with his brothers and parents.
He enjoyed woodworking and was very proud of the addition he and Karen along with a few friends and family built onto their home.
