Rosemary Keck Boulio, 91, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Rosemary Keck Boulio, 91, of 2421 Alexandra Meadows, Watertown, and formerly of West Carthage, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Carthage Area Hospital under the compassionate care of Lydia Kirshman FNP and all the staff.

Born Aug. 28, 1927, in Croghan, the daughter of the late John and Zita (Bintz) Keck, she was a 1944 graduate of Lowville Academy and the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse.

She married Bernard S. Boulio on Oct. 26, 1946, at St. Mary’s Church in Copenhagen. Bernard died May 2, 2015.

She worked at the former Pine Camp, was a bookkeeper for Sears in Watertown and was the Village Clerk and Treasurer for the Village of West Carthage, retiring on August 31, 1995 after many years of service.

Rosemary was best known for her kindness, generosity, faith and humor. She loved to read and never forgot a face or a name. She spoke about her travels to Europe where she served as the West Carthage Ambassador in Cartagena, Spain, attending the first “World Congress of Carthages”. All will remember her for her dignity and grace.

She dedicated her life to her six children of whom she was extremely proud.  They include daughters, Michelle (Bruce) Ferguson, Carthage, Danielle Cocuzzoli (Frank Sideri) of Cornelius, NC and Aimee (Guillermo) Quetell, Syracuse, three sons, Peter (Brigitte) Boulio of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Christopher (Dawn) Boulio of Adams Center and Jon Beaulieu (Giovanna Bogis-Bossey) of Switzerland, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Survivors also include a brother-in-law, Bill (Joan) Boulio, Dexter and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Jacobs, Clearwater, FL, Helen Thielen, Dubuque, IA, Mary Gibson, Checotah, OK, and Emily Vogt, Carthage, many nieces and nephews and her two dear friends, Anna Clemons and Sally Doxtater.

She was predeceased by her brother William Keck and her sisters, Eleanor Farace, Doris Oke and Beatrice Griffin and a son-in-law, Tony Cocuzzoli.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ashraf and staff, Lydia Kirshman FNP, Carthage Area Hospital ER and AIU staff and Jon Piche MSW.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Vincent De Paul’s Cemetery in Belfort. There will be no calling hours.
