WATERTOWN, NY — The funeral for Ryder P. Murtie, 11, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will follow the service in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at noon at the funeral home.
Ryder passed away Friday, July 6.
Born April 26, 2007, in Syracuse, Ryder was a son to Ryan and Jessica (Wood) Murtie.
He was a loving, energetic boy who attended Case Middle School, Watertown.
Ryder loved the New York Yankees, listening to music, and spending time at playgrounds, parks, and beaches.
Besides his parents he is survived by his siblings: Connor James Murtie, Riley Joseph Murtie, Kylie Madison Murtie; his paternal grandfather: Joseph P. Murtie of Warwick; his paternal grandmother: Gail T. Murtie of California; his maternal grandmother: Bernadette Wood of Warwick; his maternal grandfather: Michael (Kathy) Wood of Brooklyn; his paternal great-grandmother: Mary Murtie of Warwick; his aunts and uncles: Amber Wood, Bradley (Kaliegh) Balach, Jason Murtie, Kevin (Rebekah) Devine, Kelly Wood, Tessa Wood; and his cousins: Brooke Pedersen, Kierah Devine, and Cash Devine.
Donations may be made in his name to the Disabled Person’s Action Organization of Watertown, 652 Thompson St., Watertown, NY 13601.
