Samaritan Keep Home staff member tests positive for COVID-19

WATERTOWN, NY —   Samaritan Health officials released the following statement on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020:

“On Monday, August 3, Samaritan Health received notice one staff member at Samaritan Keep Home tested positive for COVID-19. This is a new staff member in our training program. The staff member has been asymptomatic and was unaware they had the virus. They will be quarantined for 14 days and retested before they return to work. This staff member has had no resident interaction because they were in classroom training only.

We have performed over 9,000 COVID-19 tests on all Samaritan long-term care staff members. We’re confident the additional precautions staff have been taking, including wearing masks and regular, deep sanitization of the facility, have greatly limited exposure.”
