Sheriff: 73-year-old Parisvhille man killed in logging accident

PARISHVILLE, NY — The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office investigated a logging accident that happened just off the Ashton Road in the town of Parishville on Aug. 31, 2018.

Deputies responded to a 911 call that a male was pinned underneath a tree.

St. Lawrence County Coroner June Wood was called and pronounced William P. Meashaw, 73, of 103 County Route 47, Parishville, deceased at the scene.

After the autopsy it was determined that Meashaw was struck by a limb in the upper left shoulder area. Meashaw ultimately died from heart related issues due to the stress of the incident, deputies said.

No foul play is suspected, deputies said.
