WATERTOWN, NY — Graveside services for Gladys E. Thomson will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019, in Glenwood Cemetery.
Friends and family will gather at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, 632 State St. starting at noon to process to the cemetery. A memorial Mass will be announced at a future day and time at Holy Family Church.
Mrs. Thomson, 99, formerly of Watertown, passed away Feb. 5, 2019, at the Mercy Living Center, Tupper Lake where she had been a resident.
Gladys is survived by four sons, David, Charles, Robert and Jerry; two sisters, Ella Eckert, Evans Mills, Dora Montgomery, Valdosta, GA, nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Mary Joan Shepherd, died in 1963.
She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Binghamton, a daughter to Floyd and Naomi Babcock Knapp. Gladys attended college in Detroit, Michigan, and worked as a social worker for several years. She later lived in Puerto Rico where she was a librarian for several years. She also worked as an Avon representative.
