CANTON, NY — St. Lawrence County Sheriff, Brooks J. Bigwarfe, would like to announce that the Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Civilian Firearms Safety Course.
The safety course will satisfy St. Lawrence County Court’s requirements for pistol permit licensing and will include information such as civilian use of force, the pistol license, care and safety of firearms as well as several other topics.
To register, please go the County Clerk’s Office located at 48 Court Street, Canton. The cost of the course is $30 and is payable by check or money order only at the County Clerk’s Office at the time of registration. Phone registrations will not be accepted. You will receive information at the time of registration regarding parking and other requirements.
The course will be held at the Public Safety Building, 48 Court St., Canton, NY on:
Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Pre-registration is required. Additional classes may be scheduled based on need.
