State Police investigate burglaries at the St. Lawrence Center Mall in Massena

MASSENA, NY —  The New York State Police released the following statement in Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019:

“On August 12, 2019, at approximately 9:40 a.m. State Police responded to the St. Lawrence Centre Mall in Massena for a report of several burglaries to the stores within the mall. Numerous exterior doors to the mall were found forced open and merchandise and cash were stolen from various retailers inside the mall.

The following morning, August 13, 2019, at approximately 1:37 a.m. a mall security guard called State Police and reported three males were inside the mall.  The security guard was advised to exit the mall and wait for patrols.  A UTV used by the suspects was found parked outside the mall and a door was found pried open.  Troopers made entry into the mall and made contact with the suspects.  A foot pursuit ensued inside the mall and the three suspects were taken into custody. The UTV was determined to have been reported as stolen.

An 18-year-old male from London, Ontario, was charged with third-degree Burglary and third-degree Possession of Burglary Tools and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was arraigned in the Massena Town Court and released after posting $750 cash bail.

Another 18-year-old male from Hogansburg, NY was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree Possession of Burglary Tools, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and fifth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was arraigned in the Massena Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

Tehahkerato Shenandoah, 19, of Hogansburg, NY, was charged with third-degree Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, third-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was arraigned in the Massena Town Court and released under the supervision of probation.”
