PARISHVILLE, NY — On Aug. 31, 2019, at approximately 5:47 p.m., State Police responded to County Route 58 in the town of Parishville for a report of a two-car, head-on motor vehicle collision.
An investigation at the scene revealed a 2016 Jeep Compass operated by Lisa M. Steinfeld, 41, of Parishville, was traveling south on County Route 58, when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel, striking a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, operated by Dawn A. Sanner, 43, of Pierrepont, who was traveling north.
Steinfeld was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital for minor injuries. Sanner was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. A passenger in Sanner’s vehicle, her husband, Thomas W. Sanner, 41, of Pierrepont, was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and later to SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, with non-life threatening injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
State Police were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff Department.
