State police investigate suspicious fire in town of Cape Vincent

CAPE VINCENT, NY —  State Police in Alexandria Bay are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred around 10:30 pm Thursday, November, 27, 2020, at an unoccupied/abandoned residence at 29019 County Route 6 in the town of Cape Vincent in Jefferson County.

Firefighters from Cape Vincent, Clayton, and Three Mile Bay responded to the scene. Fire investigators determined the home a total loss.

No one was injured in the fire.

This is the second suspicious fire at that location.

In the first incident on October 14, 2020, at approximately 9 pm, the fire burned out prior to the fire department’s arrival.

State Police was assisted at the scene by the Jefferson County Emergency Management Fire Cause & Origin Team.

The investigation is continuing.
