Stefanik announces over $1.4 million for Jefferson County Head Start

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Elise Stefanik today announced a $1,468,373 grant to support the Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County’s Head Start Program from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families. Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education and development services to promote school readiness for low-income children.

“Today, I am announcing over $1.4 million of taxpayer funds will be returned to our district to support the Head Start program of Jefferson County,” Stefanik said. “As our North Country school districts continue to work tirelessly to get students back in the classroom, community-based programs like Head Start are critical to supporting students, especially as students have tragically missed out on in-person learning due to COVID-19.”
