WFD: Storage building damaged by fire on W. Lynde Street in Watertown

Time: 11:55 a.m. hours

Incident: Structure Fire

Location: 119 W. Lynde St.

Companies Responding:
Engine 3, Engine 1, Engine 2, Truck, Rescue and Chief 3

Owner: Arturo Lala-Gonzalez

Situation Found: Working fire in a 12’ X 20’ Storage building used as a
garage/workshop with no exposures. Fire was venting out the rear of the structure
upon arrival of the first due Engine Co.

Cause: Improperly installed wood burning stove.

Remarks: Engine 3 arrived in under 1 minute from dispatch time and was able to
knock the fire down quickly. The property owners were home at the time of the fire.
One civilian suffered from smoke inhalation and was evaluated at the scene by GEMS. The patient refused transport to the hospital.

City Code department was requested to the scene.

The building is a total loss due to structural damage.

Most of the contents within the structure were saved from fire damage.
