Syracuse to host Greg Paulus led Niagara on Dec. 3 at the Carrier Dome

SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse will square off against Niagara on Thursday, December 3, in the Carrier Dome. The contest is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start and the game will be available on the your ACC Regional Sports Network (the YES Network in N.Y.).

ï‚· This will mark the 84 th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Niagara.
ï‚· Syracuse owns a 54-28 advantage in the series which began in 1910.
ï‚· Last season, the Orange defeated Niagara, 71-57, behind five threes from Buddy Boeheim and a 10-point and 13-rebound double-double from Bourama Sidibe.

Coach Greg Paulus, a former Syracuse graduate student and football team captain, leads Niagara into his second season at the helm. Paulus played collegiate basketball at Duke before playing football at Syracuse in 2009-10. Paulus threw 13 touchdowns in his season with the Orange, and his completion percentage mark (67.7) is still an SU single-season record. The Syracuse native earned the 2019-20 Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year Award, which is granted to the top first-year coach in Division I college basketball, after leading the Purple Eagles to a 12-20 record. Junior guard Marcus Hammond is the top returning scorer for Niagara after posting 14.3 points pergame in 32 starts for the Purple Eagles last season.

Syracuse was 18-14 and had won its first ACC Tournament game before the national pandemic ended the college basketball season. Syracuse returns four of five starters, including junior guard Buddy Boeheim (15.3 ppg.).

Coach Jim Boeheim is in his 45th season in charge of the program at his alma mater.
