The ARC Jefferson-St. Lawrence holds annual meeting and dinner to honor achievements

WATERTOWN, NY — The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), recently held their Annual Meeting and recognition dinner for staff and people in Jefferson County at the Savory Downtown in Watertown.

The dinner and meeting served to elect the officers for the Board of Directors, as well as honor staff members, volunteers and individuals supported by the agency.

The 2019-2020 elected officers for The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Board of Directors are as follows: Brian Marcolini, President; Jackie Sauter, Vice President; and Joanne Rhode, Secretary/Treasurer.

Staff members, program participants, volunteers, and employees were recognized for their achievements during the past year.

Heidi Hirschey received the Stephen Robarge Employee of the Year Award. Hirschey is a Senior Residential Manager who started as a direct support professional 20 years ago. She was recognized for her leadership skills and commitment to providing the people we support with choice to achieve their individualized goals.

“Heidi has an excellent rapport with the staff members she supervises,” said Howard Ganter, Chief Executive Officer for The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. “People thrive in the environment Heidi creates, which leads to success for both staff and people supported.”

Jackie Clement was awarded The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence’s Kathy Hill Individual of the Year Award. She was recognized for her interest in volunteerism and helpfulness at her residence and day program. Clement volunteers with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Urban Mission, and New Way Church.

“Jackie is never afraid to tackle a new project and works tirelessly to complete tasks,” said Lynn Pietroski, Chief Operating Officer for The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence.  “We appreciate her positive outlook and incredible sense of humor.”
