Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity announces a new program

WATERTOWN, NY — Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce the launch of a new program available in Jefferson and Lewis counties called Brush with Kindness.

Thanks to the generosity of our founding sponsors, Northern Credit Union and the Youth Philanthropy Council, Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity will be able to serve more people each year!

Traditionally, Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity has offered services to people who need help achieving the goal of home-ownership. This new program will help existing home owners who need help with home repairs. At this time, Brush with Kindness is limited to repairs outside of the home, such as wheelchair ramp installation, porch repair or other external needs.

This will be an ongoing program, serving as many people as funding allows. To be considered for participation in the first wave of the program, please submit pre-screen paperwork by August 2, 2019.

The program criteria and instructions are available for review at tiahabitat.org/apply or by calling 315- 785-0308.
