Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity welcomes new executive director

WATERTOWN, NY — Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity is pleased to welcome Michael VanWormer as their new Executive Director! VanWormer has an extensive background in leadership and project management along with a master’s degree from SUNY Oswego. VanWormer will be responsible for the overall operations of the organization.

“We are excited to have Mike join us as the new executive director. I feel confident that the organization is in good hands and look forward to all the good work that he will do on behalf of our community,” said the outgoing executive director, Amanda LeDesma.

“I’m incredibly thrilled to have the opportunity to join such a great organization. I want to build on Amanda’s accomplishments here and continue the outreach and work Habitat is known for throughout the community – volunteering and giving back to those neighbors around us,” shared VanWormer.
