Three arrested after raid of meth lab in Madrid, deputies say

CANTON, NY —  On Nov. 18, 2019, at approximately 3:05 p.m. in the town of Madrid the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested three subjects in connection with a Methamphetamine lab that was located at 3635 County Route 14.

The methamphetamine lab was located during the execution of a search warrant, deputies said. The search warrant was granted and signed by Canton Town Judge Morgan.

Located during the execution of the search warrant were several reagents, solvents and laboratory equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, deputies said.

Arrested were Alexis M. Fleming, 22, Madrid, and Derrick M. Hills, 29, Canton, both arrested for unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third-degree (D-felony).

Also arrested was Michael B. Middlemiss, 30, Madrid, for unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the secodn-degree (C-felony) as Mr. Middlemiss had a prior conviction of unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine in the third-degree from February 2016, deputies said.

All three subjects were arraigned in Canton Town Court by Judge Morgan where Michael Middlemiss was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail pending further court proceedings.

Both Alexis Fleming and Derrick Hills were released under the supervision of the St. Lawrence County Probation Department.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, City of Ogdensburg Police Department, Village of Gouverneur Police Department, Village of Massena Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations and New York State Police CCSERT.
