Tonight’s $530 Million Mega Millions jackpot is 7th largest in game history

ALBANY, NY — Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is $530 million thanks to strong ticket sales across all 46 participating jurisdictions and 24 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner.

New York’s Lottery Director Gweneth Dean said players in the Empire State have their sights set on winning the big prize.

“New York is home to one $2 million Megaplier winner and two $1 million-winning second-prize tickets sold during this roll up, and that’s not counting the thousands of other winning tickets we’ve sold for the game’s seven other prize levels,” said Dean. “We’re excited for all those players and hope that momentum will result in yet another New York Mega Millions jackpot winner. Let’s win this, New York!”

New York began selling Mega Millions tickets in 2002. Since then, New York has sold 37 jackpot-winning tickets worth a combined total of more than $3.6 billion.  See attached for a complete list of New York’s Mega Millions jackpot winners.

New York Lottery players aren’t the only winners during jackpot roll ups. Ticket sales during the 13-weeks leading up to tonight’s drawing for $530 million have generated more than $32.5 million in Lottery Aid to Education. Licensed Lottery retailers have cleared more than $5.5 million in commissions during the same period.

Mega Millions tickets may be purchased until 10:45 p.m. tonight. The drawing will take place at 11 p.m.

The New York Lottery encourages all players to play responsibly.
