Traffic Alert: Court Street

News release

WATERTOWN, NY —  As part of the construction work for the City’s ongoing Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Streetscape Project, Arcade Street will be closed to thru traffic between Arsenal and Court Streets, adjacent to Lachenauer Plaza on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

Eastbound traffic on Arsenal Street will be unable to turn left onto Arcade Street as a means of accessing Court Street, and instead will need to circumnavigate Public Square to reach Court Street.

Additionally, during parts of the day, each entrance to Marshall Place from Court Street will briefly be closed one at a time for pavement work to be completed.

Court Street itself will remain open all day Tuesday without interruption. The segment of Arcade Street between Stone and Arsenal Streets adjacent to the CitiBus Transfer Station will also remain open without interruption.

The City’s contractor will follow standard protocol to establish traffic control by installing temporary barricades, signage, and having on-site flagmen throughout the duration of the project. The City of Watertown thanks you for your patience and understanding during the construction process.

The City will continue to make every effort to keep affected project areas open during construction. However, as the project progresses, short segments of roadway and sidewalk will continue to be subject to temporary closure as project needs may warrant.
