WATERTOWN, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that crews are expected to begin paving operations on a portion of State Route 3 in Jefferson County on Friday, June 26.

Work will begin in the hamlet of Felts Mills at the intersection of State Routes 3 and 971V and will continue along State Route 3, ending near the intersection of State Routes 3 and 26 in the hamlet of Great Bend, Town of Champion. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
