WATERTOWN, NY — State Police in Watertown is investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 342 near the I-81 southbound ramp in the town of Pamelia.
On May 12, 2022, at 6:25 a.m., a 2012 Ford Fusion, operated by Trooper Alicia Gorka, was traveling (in her personal vehicle) eastbound on Rt. 342 when a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, operated by Jermayne A. Warren, age 29 from Evans Mills, NY was traveling westbound and attempted to make a left turn onto I-81 south when he turned into the path of the Ford Fusion.
Trooper Gorka was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown and was then transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse where she is undergoing surgery on both legs. She is listed in stable condition.
Warren was treated at the scene for a head laceration and released. He was issued a traffic ticket for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
