WATERTOWN, NY — Jason Harrington and Morgan Denehy are honored to announce the purchase of Reed & Benoit Funeral Home and Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home from Bill and Teresa Stoodley. Having each spent many years serving families within these firms—including Jason’s more than 20 years with the organization—this transition represents not only a professional milestone, but a deeply personal continuation of a legacy we have been proud to be part of. As North Country residents, with Morgan a graduate of Belleville-Henderson Central School and Jason a graduate of Watertown High School, this opportunity carries special meaning as we continue serving the communities we proudly call home.
For five generations, the Stoodley family has built a standard of care rooted in compassion, trust, and unwavering dedication to the community. It is truly a privilege to carry that tradition forward, and we are committed to preserving the level of service families have come to know and rely on, while continuing to grow in ways that best serve their needs.
We are especially grateful that Bill and Teresa will remain involved during this transition, offering their guidance and continued presence. Their mentorship and example have shaped not only these funeral homes, but also our own approach to serving others.
Equally important is the continued role of Lory Cobb, who will remain in her current capacity as a funeral director. Lory’s dedication, professionalism, and deep connection to the families she serves are invaluable, and we are proud to continue working alongside her.
As we look ahead, our focus remains unchanged: to provide meaningful, compassionate care to every family we serve, just as has been done for generations. We are incredibly thankful for the trust placed in us and look forward to continuing this legacy within the community.
