WATERTOWN, NY — The 16th annual “Taste of the Town” in Watertown on Saturday, April 5, 2019 remains a huge hit for the community attendees and grant beneficiaries, thanks to United Food Service Operators and Performance Food
Group! UFSO and PFG were title sponsors, presenting the event and two non-profit organizations with a very generous $5,000 donation. Watertown Sunrise Rotary uses funds from this event to fund a summer camp for disabled persons and various other local projects. The NYS Zoo at Thompson Park was the grant recipient ofthis year’s Taste of the Town event.
This exciting and successful fundraiser for Watertown Sunrise Rotary has become an annual favorite throughout the North Country, drawing approximately 1,000 attendees each year. Approximately 30 local restaurants and businesses offering food and beverages come together to create a tasting event where attendees can sample delicious appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages, and much more.
UFSO’s primary focus is on supply chain management throughout the foodservice industry in the northeastern United States while saving their combined clients multi-millions of dollars annually. UFSO becomes the procurement arm for their members, maintaining and managing order guides and creating a one stop shop for the members to order through their member portal, UFSO-Connect. Most importantly, UFSO gives back to the community and non-profit organizations while also reducing the cost of goods for these nonprofits, allowing the donation to serve its true purpose. UFSO donated $7,500 to non-profits that weekend alone, and continues to give back to the community daily with their cost saving business model.
