OGDENSBURG, NY — The Ogdensburg Police Department was called to respond to 216 Caroline Street in the City of Ogdensburg at approximately 6:58PM, for a report of shots fired at several intruders inside the residence.
Arriving officers encountered one male subject within the residence. This subject was interviewed at the Ogdensburg Police Department. A search of the residence resulted in locating evidence of several shotgun rounds being fired within the residence, and one 20 gauge shotgun was recovered.
There is no evidence indicating that any person was actually shot at or that any person broke into the residence.
Therefore, this matter is no longer being investigated as a criminal matter.
The Ogdensburg Police department was assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit and criminal investigation division, the New York State Police and the Bureau of Criminal investigations as well as the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office.
