Watch: WPBS-TV’s president and general manager Lynn Brown named North Country Goes Green Irish Festival’s grand marshal for 2019

North Country Goes Green Irish Festival (ncirishfest.com) is proud to announce Lynn Brown will be Grand Marshal for the 2019 “Tom Bowman Memorial” St Patrick’s Day parade. Throughout Lynn‘s career with PBS, she has consistently advocated for Irish themed broadcasting. Her continued support of our culture brought great acts like Celtic Thunder, ‪Celtic Woman‬ and many more to our broadcasting area. She is also credited with being the 1st broadcaster in the North Country to broadcast Daniel O’Donnel . Lynn’s BackgroundLynn Brown has been with WPBS since June, 1999. Lynn has served in a number of capacities at WPBS including Director of Programming & Development, Director of Station Operations and Executive Vice President. Lynn was appointed President & General Manager in July, 2013. WPBS-DT is a state-of-the-art public media facility that was chartered in 1958, has a $2.7-Million Annual Budget and serves approximately 2.2-Million viewers or 650,000 households in Northern New York and Eastern Ontario Canada. WPBS-DT is a Two Nation Station and is celebrating 60 Years of Service! Lynn also serves in a number of professional affiliations and boards to include: Chairperson for The Association of Public Broadcasting of New York (APBS-NY); River Hospital Board; the Small Station Association Board; Northern Regional Center for Independent Living, and, the North Country Council of Social Agencies Board. Lynn is a member of the Rotary Club of Watertown, the Elk’s Club, and the American Association of University Women. She is also active in her home town by serving on the Santway Park Revitalization Committee.Lynn’s educational background is a B.S. in Business Administration, Management & Human Resource Management. Her philosophy in management is ‘to lead is to serve.
