WATERTOWN, NY – On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the Watertown Family YMCA will be hosting the 33rd Annual Shamrock Run. The race will begin at the former St Patrick’s School, 733 S. Massey Street, Watertown, NY.
The focus of the Shamrock Run is to bring the community together and promote family fun. With the cancellation of the North Country Goes Green Irish Festival, due to the continued COVID pandemic, the Y’s hope is that the Shamrock Run, an outdoor event, will still provide families an option to come together and celebrate with a health activity to kick off the day.
Participation options this year include a 5K run or a 2.2-mile walk/run option. Online registration, hosted by Race Roster and Auyer Race Timing, is now open.

Online registration will close Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 9:00 PM. Packet pickups for participants will be March 10th, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM and March 11th, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Fairgrounds Y location 585 Rand Drive, Watertown, NY.
Last call registration and packet pickup will take place at St Patrick’s Elementary School, the morning of the race, 7:00-8:30 AM. The race begins at 9:00 AM. Race results and medal awards will be announced inside the school at 10:00 AM.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, last year’s run was combined with the annual Turkey Day Run and promoted as a virtual event. The return of this event is a harbinger of the return to normal community life.
The Watertown Family YMCA strives to provide programming and services during these difficult times as we continue to look towards the future and brighter days ahead with the return of the full North Country Goes Green Irish Festival in 2023.
