Watertown High School announces Class of 2021 leaders

WATERTOWN, NY —  Watertown High School has announced the Class of 2021 leaders.

The valedictorian of the Watertown High School Class of 2021 is Analee Lanphear, daughter of Jill and Ryan Lanphear and sister to Adele Lanphear. Throughout high school Analee has excelled in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP U.S. History, and English 101 and 102. In addition to her academic commitments, Analee has been involved in numerous extracurriculars. She plays the trumpet in the WHS Wind Ensemble and has performed in WHS musicals as well as the Select Choir. Analee has performed in Bi-County bands and choirs, Area All-State Band, and NYSSMA solos for trumpet, piano, and voice. She is also a three-sport athlete: a team member of the Varsity soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse teams. Analee is a member of the Environmental Club, Ohio Reading Buddies, Foreign Language Club, Whiz Quiz team, and Secretary of the National Honor Society. She was a representative for the Rotary Club and a WWNY 7 News Academic All-Star. Analee has received the Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Award, the Bausch + Lomb Honorary Science Award, the Dedicated Leadership & Sportsmanship Award, the Cathy Haggerty Award, and the Section III Scholar-Athlete Award. She earned a score of 100 on both the Living Environment and Earth Science NYS Regents Exams. Additionally, Analee
works as a ski instructor at Dry Hill Ski Area and as an ice cream scooper at Strader’s Saturday’s, Sundaes, & More. Analee would like to thank her family, friends, teachers, and coaches for their support and guidance throughout her academic career. This fall Analee will attend the University of Rochester where she plans to major in biology with a focus on ecological research. Analee’s overall grade point average is 99.43.

The salutatorian of the Watertown High School Class of 2021 is Suzanna Rainbolt, daughter of Raymond and Marie Rainbolt. Throughout her high school career, Suzanna excelled at AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP English, AP Chemistry and AP U.S. History. She was captain of the Varsity Tennis team and is a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team. Suzanna is a member of the National Honor Society, Diversity Club, Environmental Club, Ohio Reading Buddies and Whiz Quiz. She was also a representative for the Rotary Club. Suzanna plays oboe in the WHS Wind Ensemble and has participated in Bi-County Band and was an alternate for NYSBDA Honor Band. She was a member of the Select Choir and has participated in WHS musicals as well as Bi-County Choir. She has performed NYSSMA solos for oboe, voice, violin and piano. Suzanna is a violinist at the Trillium School of Music and is a member of the Trillium Fiddlers and Trillium Orchestra. Furthermore, she has participated in Area All-State Orchestras and has performed as concertmistress. She is a National Merit Commended student and has received the DAR Good Citizen’s Award, George Eastman Young Leaders Award, NY Attorney General’s Triple C Award and CIEE Global Navigator Scholarship in addition to other academic awards. Suzanna has had the privilege to study
abroad in Toulouse, France through the CIEE Scholarship program and has volunteered with Cross Cultural Solutions teaching English in Ho, Ghana for a summer. She has given presentations to the community based upon her travels and experiences. Additionally, Suzanna works as a childcare provider at Emmanuel Congregational Church. She would like to thank her family, friends, teachers and coaches for all of their encouragement and support throughout the years. This fall Suzanna will attend the University of Rochester where she plans to double major in anthropology and environmental science. Suzanna’s overall grade point average is 99.3.

Marcus Boone, son of Jeanina and Mathew Boone and brother of Demetrius Boone, is the Watertown High School Class of 2021 Outstanding Vocational Student with a cumulative BOCES average of 97 in Automotive Technology. He was also named BOCES Student of the Quarter at the start of his senior year. Marcus will graduate with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation and Mastery in Science. Marcus has recently earned his Eagle Scout Award and Summit Award. He participates in multiple community service projects throughout each year. Marcus was accepted into the University of Northwestern Ohio where he will be attending next fall.
