Watertown High School announces Class of 2025 leaders

The valedictorian of the Watertown High School Class of 2025 is Jocelyn Ann St. Joseph, daughter of Mr. Scott and Mrs. Kristen St. Joseph.

Jocelyn has excelled in Advanced Placement US History, Advanced Placement Biology, Advanced Anatomy and Physiology, and Drawing and Painting I and II. In addition, Jocelyn has achieved excellence in a variety of SUNY Jefferson EDGE courses, including Statistics, Psychology, English 101, English 102 and Medical Terminology. Jocelyn is a participant in the New Visions Health Program.

Jocelyn is a member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, she is a 7 NEWS Academic All-Star, and she is a St. Lawrence University Augsbury Scholarship Recipient. She is the vice president of the WHS Class of 2025 and the treasurer of the Audio-Visual Club. Jocelyn is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honor Society, the PBIS Student Committee, and the WHS Student Council.

She is the Class of 2025 Social Media Manager, a WHS Student Representative of the Noon Rotary and a News Anchor for the Audio-Visual Club.

Jocelyn is the captain of the Watertown Cyclones Girls Varsity Soccer team. She is a member of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team, and she is a Section III Scholar Athlete.

Jocelyn served as the Costume Crew Team Lead for this year’s musical production of ‘Mama Mia’, she has served as a WHS Student Mentor, and as a Samaritan Medical Center Clinical Rotation Student. Jocelyn has been employed as a Dry Hill Ski Area Snack Bar attendant, a City of Watertown Playground attendant and a Northern New York Nurse Practitioner intern. Jocelyn volunteers for Food for Families, the WHS Angel Tree, the WHS Talent Show, the American Red Cross Blood Drive, the WHS Booster Club and Ohio Fun Day. Jocelyn has earned and is the recipient of the Seal of Civic Readiness. She holds certifications in CPR and First Aid, and she has been fully trained in Stop the Bleed and NARCAN administration.

This fall, Jocelyn will enter the University at Buffalo where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Upon completion of her baccalaureate studies, she plans to obtain a Master of Science Degree, and to become a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Dermatology and Aesthetics.

Jocelyn’s grade point average is 98.81

 

The salutatorian of the Watertown High School Class of 2025 is Andrea Isabella Trombley, daughter of Mr. Randy and Mrs. Angela Trombley.

Andrea has excelled in Advanced Placement US History, Advanced Drawing and Painting I & II and Enriched English 9, 10 and 11. Andrea has achieved excellence in a variety of SUNY Jefferson EDGE courses, including Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Spanish 4, English 101, English 102, Psychology and Statistics.

Andrea is a member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, she is a recipient of a St. Lawrence University Augsbury Scholarship, and she has received Trustee and Presidential Scholarships from the following institutions: Nazareth College, Niagara University, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Buffalo, Stony Brook University and Le Moyne College. In addition, Andrea has been named to the President’s List at SUNY Jefferson.

Andrea is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the president of the World Language Ambassadors Club, the treasurer of the WHS Book Club, and a WHS Student Representative to the Noon Rotary. Andrea has earned and is the recipient of the Seal of Civic Readiness. She is a member of the Travel and Culture Club, she is a Yearbook staff member, and she is a Classroom Mentor at Wiley Intermediate School.

Andrea is an employee of Joann Fabrics, and she serves as a volunteer for Reading Buddies, for the WHS Talent Show, for the YMCA and for the WHS Elective Fair. Andrea was named Watertown High School Art Student of the Month, and her artwork has been displayed in a variety of shows, including the Tri-County Art Show and the Flower Memorial Library Art Show.

In the fall, Andrea will enroll at Colgate University. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychological Sciences, followed by a Master of Science degree in Experimental Psychology, with the intention of becoming a Research Psychologist.

Andrea’s grade point average is 98.43.

The Outstanding Vocational Student of the Watertown High School Class of 2025 is Riley Elizabeth St. Joseph, daughter of Mr. Scott and Mrs. Kristen St. Joseph.

Riley has achieved excellence in a variety of SUNY Jefferson EDGE courses, including English 101, English 102, Introduction to Early Childhood Care and Development, JCC’s Community-Based Pre-Apprenticeship Childcare Assistant Program, and Goal Setting and Workplace Efficiency Training.

In addition, Riley has earned and is the recipient of both the Seal of Civic Readiness, and the Seal of Career and Technical Endorsement. She has been recognized for academic excellence in Human Anatomy, Early Childhood Education, and she has attained certification from the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute.

Riley is a member of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, she is a 7 NEWS Career-Tech All-Star, and she is the recipient of the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Award. Riley is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. She is the treasurer of the Class of 2025, she is a WHS Student Representative of the Noon Rotary, and she is a Morning News and Sports Photographer for the WHS Audio-Visual Club. Riley is a member of the Student Council, she is a Vape Cessation Committee member, a member of the Watertown Cyclones Girls Varsity Tennis Team, and a Section III Scholar Athlete. Riley serves as an intern at both Knickerbocker Elementary and Sherman Elementary Schools. She recently portrayed the lead role of ‘Donna Sheridan’ in the Watertown High School Spring musical production of “Mama Mia.” She is the WHS Select Choir Soprano Section Leader and the WHS Choral Program Choreographer. Riley volunteers for Food for Families, the WHS Angel Tree, the WHS Talent Show, and she holds CPR, Dignity for All Students, and SAVE certifications.

This fall, Riley will enter Nazareth University, where she will enroll in a 5-year Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Occupational Therapy program. Upon completion of her program of study, Riley plans to become a pediatric occupational therapist.

Riley’s grade point average is 97.
