Photos: Watertown house extensively damaged by fire, pets rescued

WATERTOWN, NY — A house was damaged by fire Sunday afternoon with at least three pets being rescued.

City firefighters were dispatched at 12:48 p.m. Sunday to 444 Flower Avenue East and found smoke showing. All occupants safely evacuated the structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Fort Drum Fire Department, Watertown Police Department, Guilfoyle Ambulance, National Grid and DPW assisted at the scene.

According to city records, the 2.5-story house built in 1900 is owned by Richard S. and Stephanie J. Converse.
