Watertown man accused of chasing another with knives, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Bruno G. Nespoli Moreira, 35, of 138 W. Main St., Apt. 5, was charged by Watertown police at 9:59 a.m. Sunday, July 3, in the 300 block of W. Main Street with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Mr. Nespoli Moreira is accused of “chasing Kirk R. Guyette, 39, Watertown, with a large fillet knife and and a cleaver, and then threw the knives at him striking him in the back which placed him in reasonable fear of physical injury or serious physical injury,” at about 9:53 a.m. Sunday at 138 Main St., according to court documents.

Police said Nespoli Moreira was previously convicted of attempted resisting arrest on June 10, 2022, in City Court.

He was held for arraignment Sunday evening in City Court.
