Watertown man accused of choking woman, possessing drugs

WATERTOWN, NY —  George D. Robinson Jr., 36, of 604 Pine St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:24 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

Mr. Robinson is accused of grabbing a 29-year-old woman by her neck with both hands, pushed her against a dresser and applied pressure during a domestic incident at about 1:12 a.m. Monday at 604 Pine St., police said.

He was additionally charged with two felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a single count of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and a single count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said he possessed 15.74 grams of meth, 1.20 grams of heroin, 56 Clonazepam pills and 45 small zip-lock bags in a manner consistent with intent to sell.

He was being held pending arraignment Monday morning in City Court.
