Watertown man accused of damaging door with shovel

WATERTOWN, NYMichael M. Brown, 28, of 11 Public Square, Apt. 401, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 3:51 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at 153 St. Mary St. with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Mr. Brown is accused of striking a front door belonging to Jessica Whiting with a round nose shovel several times causing the window to fall out of the door and shatter upon hitting the ground at about 3:39 a.m. Saturday at 153 St. Mary St., according to court documents. The value of the window was listed at $375.

He was arraigned before Watertown Town Justice Matthew J. Porter who released him pending further City Court action.
