Watertown man accused of holding machete to woman’s throat during domestic incident

WATERTOWN, NY —  Aswad Malik Shakoor Khadijah, 41, of 321 William St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 8:36 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the 100 block of William Street with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, a felony, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and second-degree menacing.

Mr. Khadijah is accused of holding a machete to the throat of a 26-year-old woman, threatened to kill her and imprisoned her in their residence during a domestic incident at about 12:48 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at 321 William St., according to court documents. Police said he was previously convicted of a crime on June 20, 2019, in town of Watertown Court.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending a video arraignment.
