Watertown man accused of punching woman, threatening to kill her

WATERTOWN, NY —  Anthony S. Bidwell, 25, of 548 Mill St., Apt. 1, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:48 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, at 222 Academy St., Apt. B, with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Bidwell is accused of following Leah S. Wisner, 26, around her apartment with what she believed was a rifle in his hands while threatening to kill her at about 2:46 p.m. May 14, according to court documents. He also allegedly punched her repeatedly in the head causing redness and grabbed two of her phones to prevent her from contacting the 911 dispatch center during the same incident, police said.

He was being held pending arraignment Tuesday morning in court.
