Watertown man accused of striking, dropping cat on the ground

WATERTOWN, NY —  James A. Arca, 44, of 147 St. Mary St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:31 a.m. Sunday, March 8, at his residence with aggravated cruelty to animals.

Mr. Arca is accused of striking a cat, dropping it on the ground and placing the cat in a tub with water with the intent to kill the cat which caused the cat to be seriously injured and ultimately die at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at 147 St. Mary St., according to court documents.

He is summoned to appear April 1 in City Court.
