Watertown man accused of violating order of protection, threatening woman with knife

WATERTOWN, NY —  Mackey J. West, 53, of 1708 Ohio St., Apt. 134, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 3:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Mr. West is accused of violating the terms of a City Court stay-away order of protection when he “knocked and pounded on the door while yelling to the protected party” Gretchen L. Marston, 44, to open the door at about 2:59 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Boyd Street, according to court documents.

He was also charged at 3:06 a.m. Friday at A-Plus, 610 State St., with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment.

He is accused of violating the terms of a Family Court order of protection when grabbed Ms. Marston by her jacket while brandishing a 6-inch kitchen knife at about 6:36 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at 636 Boyd St., according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
