Watertown man accused of violating order of protection during domestic incident

WATERTOWN, NY —  Billy Joe Simmons, 41, of 529 Emerson St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 7:52 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Sunoco, 430 Factory St., with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and second-degree harassment.

Mr. Simmons is accused of violating the terms of a City Court refrain-from order of protection when he allegedly grabbed the protected party, Erika Grant, 43, and pulled her while she attempted to get away during a domestic incident at about 7:42 p.m. at 430 Factory St., according to court documents.

He was being held pending arraignment Tuesday morning in City Court.
