Watertown man charged with possessing child pornography following 2-year investigation, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  The Watertown Police Department released the following statement on April 1, 2021:

“On 04/04/2019 members of our uniform patrol division and criminal investigation
division investigated a child pornography case that occurred at 278 State Street, apartment 4B, in Watertown, NY. It was determined that Christopher Church II was in possession of pictures and videos on his electronic devices of young children engaged in sex acts with adult men.

On 04/01/2021, Christopher James Church II, a 31-year-old Watertown man, was charged with three counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child, a Class D Felony.

He was arraigned in Watertown City Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on $5,000.00 bail or $25,000.00 bond.

We were assisted by the New York State Police in this investigation.”
