Watertown man runs from traffic stop, accused of possessing numerous drugs

WATERTOWN, NY —  On 05/18/22, members of the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force were conducting a drug investigation in the City of Watertown.

Ryan D. Monroe (age 40, Watertown, NY) was the focus of this investigation and
had active bench warrants out of the Jefferson County Court.

A vehicle stop was conducted in the 300 block of N. Rutland St on a vehicle that Mr. Monroe was a passenger in by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr. Monroe fled the vehicle stop on foot and a short foot pursuit took place. Mr. Monroe was taken into custody by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force and was found to be in possession of 58.2 grams of methamphetamine, 50 glassine envelopes containing heroin, 24 suboxone strips, 12.8 grams of crack grams of crack cocaine, 29.1 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, packaging supplies consistently used to package drugs for sale, and $2,388.00 in US currency.

Mr. Monroe was processed and held on the active warrants pending arraignment in Jefferson County Court.

Additional charges are pending for the drugs Mr. Monroe possessed.

The Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force was assisted in this investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Watertown Police road patrol.
