Watertown man trespassed at neighbor’s apartment, resisted arrest, police say

WATERTOWN, NY — Matthew R. Alexis, 22, of 1620 Huntington St., Apt. M5, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 9:38 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at 1620 Huntington St. with second-degree criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

Mr. Alexis is accused of unlawfully entering and remaining inside the residence of Ryan D. Sawyer,  21, of 1620 Huntington St., Apt. M7, when he opened the door, stepped inside, ignored requests to leave and was pushed out of the apartment by the victim at about 9:21 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, according to court documents.

Alexis also allegedly “ripped away” for a police officer and charged at a patrol vehicle, police said.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 police bail pending arraignment Thursday morning in City Court.
