Watertown police say Glenfield man was traveling 104 MPH on Arsenal Street at time of October collision with another vehicle

WATERTOWN, NY —  Skylar M. Willsie, 20, of 7001 Austin Road, Glenfield, was charged by Watertown police at 11:36 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at 9932 State Route 12 in Copenhagen with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, reckless driving, a misdemeanor, speeding and four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony.

Mr. Willsie is accused of driving his Ram 1500 pickup truck 104 mph in a 30-mph zone in the 1200 block of Arsenal Street striking a 2018 Dodge Durango thereby creating risk of death to Brooklyn Batsford and Divine Whitfield, who were passengers in the Durango, and Salamon Mathieu and Logan Ras, who were passengers in the Ram pickup truck, at about 9:47 p.m. Oct. 14, according to court documents.

Police wrote: “The defendant did act in a manner evincing a depraved indifference to human life when he drove his Ram 1500 pickup truck 104 mph in a 30-mph zone striking another vehicle, a 2018 Dodge Durango, thereby creating a grave risk of death.”

Mr. Willsie was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment Monday morning in City Court.
