Watertown woman accused of shoplifting, falsifying business records at Kinney Drugs

WATERTOWN, NY — Amanda S. Johnson, 37, of 124 E. Division St., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:48 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with firs-degree falsifying business records, a felony, and petit larceny.

She is accused of stealing a Mountain Dew drink from Kinney Drugs, 1328 Washington St., at about 8 p.m. June 26, police said. She is also accused of taking a box of Delsym cough syrup off a shelf at the store and then exchanged the cough syrup for a $19.99 Kinney Drugs gift card when she did not actually purchase the item causing a false return to be entered in business records at about 8 p.m. June 26, according to court documents.

Police said she was being held at the county jail on unrelated charges.

She is summoned to appear July 24 in City Court.
