Watertown woman accused of taking cellphone from grandmother during argument, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Payton A. Roberts, 23, of 134 Union St., Apt. 5, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 11:46 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at her residence with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

She is accused of taking a cellphone from her grandmother, Suzanne J. Roberts, 66, in an attempt to prevent her grandmother from requesting assistance from the police after her a call had been made to 911 during an argument at 134 Union St., according to court documents.

She was held for arraignment in court, police said.
