35-year-old Watertown woman accused of trespassing at JCC residence hall, fleeing from officers, resisting arrest

WATERTOWN, NY —  Catherine M. Melhuish, 35, of 240 E. Main St., Apt. E, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 3:33 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at Byrne Dairy, 1003 Coffeen St., with failure to obey a police officer, unsafe lane change, illegal signal less than 100 feet, second-degree criminal obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest.

She is accused of fleeing in a motor vehicle as police officers were investigating a trespassing complaint at a residence hall on the Jefferson Community College campus at about 3:20 a.m. Thursday, according to court documents. While being arrested, she allegedly refused to provide her hands for handcuffing, pulled away from officers and ignored verbal commands, they said.

She was being held pending arraignment Thursday morning at the Jefferson County Court complex.
