Watertown woman allegedly stabbed man with large kitchen knife, police say

WATERTOWN, NY — Dneash J. Dennis, 20, of 251 Stone St., Apt. 3, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 10:31 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, with second-degree assault, a felony, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

She is accused of stabbing Donte J. McCoy, 24, of 168 Sterling St., with a large kitchen knife causing an approximately inch and a half wide laceration requiring medical attention at about 9:25 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at her residence, according to court documents.

Police said they found 4.9 grams of marijuana in a clear plastic bag that was discovered in plain view on top of a dresser during a safety sweep.

She was arraigned Sunday morning before City Judge Eugene R. Renzi who sent her to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with bail set at $5,000 cash.
