Watertown woman charged with felony driving while intoxicated

WATERTOWN, NYChelsey L. Baker, 26, of 105 Creekwood Dr., Apt. 4, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:29 a.m. Sunday, May 13, in the 200 block of Washington Street with felony driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, unsafe lane change and operating a vehicle on an expired inspection. Her blood alcohol content was 0.19 percent, police said. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI, which carries harsher penalties upon conviction, is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or greater. Police said she was previously convicted of DWI on March 18, 2013. She was released after posting $500 police bail. Ms. Baker is summoned to appear May 23 in City Court.
