SUBJECT: Structure Fire, 386 Pawling St.

On 3/23/26 at 02:02 hours, the City of Watertown Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 386 Pawling St.
Engine Co 2 (State St) arrived in 3 minutes to find a 2 story wood frame private dwelling with heavy fire coming from the windows on the 1st floor and heavy smoke coming from the second floor.
PD advised the occupant had self evacuated prior to arrival. The sole occupant of the home was transported to SMC by Guilfoyle with smoke inhalation and minor burns.
The home sustained heavy fire damage throughout the 1st floor and smoke and water damage on the second floor. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
City Fire units were assisted by Guilfoyle Ambulance, Watertown PD, Fort Drum FD with a RIT Team, City Codes Dept and the City Water Dept. as well as National Grid. Town of Watertown FD and Northpole FD provided standby companies. City Fire units handled 5 other emergency calls during the time of the fire.
Units cleared the scene at 06:36.
There were no working smoke detectors in the home.
