WFD Update: Farwell Street fire

Narrative:
City fire units were dispatched at 12:53pm to 216 Farwell St. for a report of smoke
coming from the roof. Upon arrival there was heavy smoke pushing from all openings from the attic of a 2 ½ story single family dwelling. Companies made an aggressive push into the attic through a scuttle hole on the second floor where they found heavy fire throughout the entire attic space, while Truck 1 searched for any victims and cut a ventilation hole in the roof.

No victims were found, and the fire was quickly knocked down in the attic. Fire
damage was contained to the attic with smoke and water damage to the first and
second floor. Fire damage to the attic is extensive.

WFD was assisted on scene by Fort Drum FD RIT Team, WPD, Guilfoyle Ambulance, City Codes and National Grid.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at the time of this report.

No injuries were reported.
