Woman accused of striking police officer

WATERTOWN, NYMiranda Ann Ives, 30, of 613 Boyd St., Apt. 5, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 3:44 a.m. Friday, June 29, at 232 W. Main St. with second-degree counts of criminal obstruction of government administration and harassment.

“The defendant intentionally attempted to prevent a uniformed officer from checking the welfare on a reported ill person by blocking the entryway and attempting to physically prevent the officer from entering the residence by grabbing and pulling the officer,” at about 3:26 a.m. Friday, according to court documents.

She also allegedly struck the officer in the chest, police said.

She was being held on $250 police bail pending arraignment Friday morning in City Court.
