WPD news release
WATERTOWN, NY — On November 17th, 2022, at 5:46 p.m. the Watertown Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of Washington Street for a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident.
The pedestrian is identified as 47-year-old Michael E. Worley of Watertown.
The vehicle is a 2019 2500 Dodge Ram with a plow attached, operated
by 66-year-old William H. Leslie of Watertown.
Investigation revealed that Worley was attempting to cross the 800 block of
Washington St. in a westbound direction of travel. The vehicle was traveling south
on the 800 block of Washington St in the southbound lane.
Worley was struck in the southbound lane by the vehicle.
Worley was immediately transported to Samaritan Medical Center. Samaritan staff attempted to resuscitate Worley, but Worley succumbed to his injuries and pronounced dead at 6:34pm.
There are no charges or traffic citations at this time.
Investigation is continuing.
